Downton have seemingly re-found the pace they lost prior to the race at Silverstone by ending practice for the Belgian V-Prix fastest, with Nathaniel Powers less than six hundredths ahead of Klaas van Snelheid. The biggest surprise though was North Star debutante Karl Beckenbauer, who continued the teams strong form from Silverstone with third fastest. The German has switched places with Aleksy Nowosinki - who has moved the opposite way to Ocelot and ended the session slowest - despite the Pole scoring his best, and his team's equal best result last time out.
Tumo Kinnumen was a strong fourth for Westwood ahead of Lewis Ellington, with Adrien Simon and Olesandr Zozulya making it six different teams in the top seven. Behind them were two reserve drivers running in practice only; Nikolajis Christodoulou made his second appearance of the season and ended the session eighth, while Sebastian Bergkvist was in the Holmqvist for the first time in 2017 and wound up ninth. Puccio Giodano rounded out the top ten for Franklin with Judson Sikes eleventh, over one second slower than his new team mate. Behind them were Allar Kangur, Enrique Ruiz and Arden Hutchinson - the latter of whom once again didn't look for all out pace in practice. The result of today's session could be proved pointless tomorrow however as rain is expected to move in over the Ardennes, in what is likely to result in a wet qualifying session.
