The Westwood Racing team leader, currently sat in 9th place in the championship, has expressed concerns about whether or not he'll make the grid next year.
In pre season testing, the American was not a surprising driver, he didn't seem to show anything above average talent. He did show his wet weather finesse but otherwise he seemed unspectacular.
Then the season came, and Bacon proved himself. He grabbed a strong finish at Australia to kickstart his year, while his then teammate Agostino languished towards the rear of the pack. He then drove an excellent race in Malaysia from last, after being spun, to take more points. Throughout the season he has been consistently surprising everyone, his boss Harry Westwood included. Then he grabbed his stunning pole in Germany, and held the lead for a fair amount of time. He finished fourth, and with 30 points out of Westwood's 41, he is a big factor in their success this season.
However he is without a seat for next season, the only driver in the top 10 to not have a seat in fact. He is rumoured to have been in talks with Westwood about a seat for a while, however our sources have told us they have as of yet failed to negotiate a price. But in recent races Bacon has been proving his worth again. Will he finally be able to agree a price with Westwood? Or will another team snap up the American?
