After the 2019 Turkish V-Prix, where Klaas van Snelheid won after his teammate Nathaniel Powers and Franklin driver Enrique Ruiz lost their front wings. Behind them in 9th place Nikolai Milkovich took Cheema's first points finish, much to the delight of his team boss Ahmed Cheema who was estatic after the race in the pen area. When questioned about the decision to go onto wets, Cheema went on a long speech: "We knew our race had been comprimised by De La Fuente but we were hopeful of getting a top 15 finish, as we had one stop remaining. Then the clouds darkened, the weather forecast started showing rain and I just prayed. We tried to extend the stints for both drivers and even after Mattson passed us we knew a point was a possibility. Then Kimi [Young] started shouting 'it's wet enough, it's wet enough!' and we were off shouting to get wet tyres ready. The pit crew did a fantastic job, we screamed over the radio to our drivers to pit and it worked."
"The last few laps were hell, Mattson was all over Nikolai who had undercutted him. Now this season Nikolai has droven brilliantly, but today was his finest hour. Brilliant defending from a way faster car, no mistakes, cool as you like. I was here completely freaking out peeing myself and he kept it on the track in tricky conditions. I don't think I breathed until Mattson spun off honestly. To score a point, let alone two, is something we as a team never expected... it's a dream come true. Whatever the future holds, whatever happens to us over the next few years, I'll definitely look back on this day and smile a lot." Cheema's first points also mark the first time an Irish team has scored points in FV, and puts them in 11th in the championship, with 4 races to go.
