Le Mans, 18/6/19 In a week of change within Formula Virtual that has seen one of the sport's stalwarts leave and another return to the fray, news has emerged of further upheaval within the paddock, with confirmation that Arthur Lapierre has left his position at DS Performance as their Head of Motorsport. The resignation comes with the Frenchman citing "conflicting priorities" with future moves within the sport. His stake in the DS affiliated Mathershaw Technology team is unaffected, remaining as Team Principal, though rumours have surfaced that the conflict is due to upcoming changes at the Le Mans-based team.
"It is with sadness I confirm my departure from DS Automobiles after four very fruitful and happy years." said the Frenchman. "We have experienced a lot of highs, and as with any sport some lows, but I know we can all hold our heads high and look back on this time fondly." "For the future, I must concentrate on my position as Team Principal of Mathershaw Technology, and there are a number of very exciting opportunities on the horizon for us that I cannot wait to get started with, but it is those opportunities that ultimately mean I cannot combine my role in the team with everything I do with DS Performance." In a further statement, DS Automoiles have reaffirmed their commitment to Formula Virtual, and have confirmed they will remain in the sport for 2020.
