The team’s car has been named the FIRST Kamen 18 and it will be powered by Ford’s new V8 engine for Formula Virtual, the Ford Wildebeest FV. The team had a presentation ceremony at a showroom in the infield of the track to reveal the car before letting drivers Felix Pérez and Oleksandr Zozulya each do some laps around Road Atlanta’s 2.54 mile road course layout. FIRST used Oleksandr Zozulya’s car in the presentation ceremony and Felix Pérez’s car for the on track running.
Ocelot Pegasus Alferi Maserati have official revealed which livery the team will run in 2018 season, following a dispute between the Japanese outfit and their engine supplier Maserati. The two colours available were the Japanese White or the Italian marque's Blue brand colour, with the the one which wasn't chosen becoming the testing livery. Well, today the team were dropping subtle clues that the car was in fact blue, when dropping hints across their social media about the sky being blue rather than white. Rai Miyamoto was at the conference as well keeping things close to his chest. The team have confirmed that the car will mark a new era like it did for Italy, with it being named after the famous Italian time period and art style. ''I hope that naming the car after the Renaissance will show you all that this piece of art, is here to stay for the long while and to have a strong influence on the world.'' Following his speech Miyamato unrevealed the livery of the car alongside Giodano, Yoshida and Steffenson. The Car was in-fact blue. Many believed that the blue was the favourite due to the might of the Italian suppliers. However during the applause Rai Miyamoto remained coy, and some what pleased with himself. Grabbing a Microphone and echoing some words never before heard in Formula Virtual Audience. ''I'd just like to echo some famous words, said to me by a great friend. Betray your audience.'' Following the words, the lights in the arena dimmed as a video began to play of the 1957 Maserati 250f. One of the greatest cars in the companies legacy if not the greatest. ''I'd like to confirm that the White livery will indeed be running as our testing livery. But Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you 'The Renaissance!' Following the confusion Miyamoto had more to say, ''As an entire team we thought strong and hard on what type of identity we wanted to create and eventually it all made sense. Yes Blue is the current colour of Maserati and White does represent Japan, but that isn't what we are trying to do. We at this team want to bring Maserati back to it's glory days, where it ran the Iconic Italian racing colours, but also how the Red and White represented the Japanese racing colours. It was a perfect unification of the two coming together under one roof.''
''Now I understand many will argue that Maserati is Blue and Ferrari is Red, but this never would have happened if Ferrari didn't purchase Maserati. Maserati's Soul is Italian Red. The colour of passion!'' Following the end of the announcement, Pegasus has confirmed the team will run a Red livery, a White livery at testing and the Blue livery as a special at the Italian V-Prix. |
