Let me make one thing clear before I continue, this is not an article. This is not a journalistic piece to stir controversy or to create publicity. This is not a reactionary post from anything that has happened here or in previous races, this is pure fact, me talking to you. I have spent the last six and a half years in Formula Virtual, racing, competing, enjoying myself. But the time has come for me to leave. 2019 will be the last season Franklin compete in FV. This is no reflection on the community, nor on the performance of my team, but on factors outside of Formula Virtual. In the last few months I have started my own business, I have had another child, and hell not that anyone needs to know, but my marriage has also come to an end. I'm not looking for sympathy, but this has all made me realise that I need to put my focus elsewhere.
I pride myself on my competitive spirit. If I were to remain here, it would be in a capacity that I could put the time and effort into putting myself on top, but I want that time and effort spent elsewhere, growing my business and taking advantage of what life has to offer. By no means am I saying that this is a waste of my time, just that I feel it is better spent elsewhere. Like I said, I'm an all or nothing kinda guy, and I'm not going to half-ass it just for the sake of being here. I may not be the most popular on the grid given the character and persona I adopted for the purpose of the sport, but I did enjoy the time I had here competing against you all. I'm sure I'll still frequent the Discord from time to time, but that's probably as much involvement I can see from myself for the foreseeable future. I hope you respect my wishes that the Franklin team dies with me as I want the legacy to remain with myself. I appreciate that this isn't what Nic wants, and I haven't spoken to him, nor anyone else about this, as the original teams were meant to become legacy teams passed on to the next manager, but I don't want to see my team in the hands of another. Thanks everyone for the time we've had, and here's to the rest of 2019.
