AMR have revealed the three investors that have thrown the Australian team a lifeline, with an announcement from new Team Principal Adrian Arnello, of the investing trio, at Indianapolis this weekend. "We've managed to come up with a 'best of all worlds' scenario that'll keep us going through next season and, at this rate, beyond," stated Arnello on Friday. Arnello, a former head of development with the research firm AMR that bared the team's namesake, joins two other personnel who have banded together to keep the team going.
"There's the three of us - myself, Adrian, a German lad named Jan Milner, brilliant engineer, and another Aussie, Brad Ronson, who's worked in various roles with the team and the car and that, mainly aero" said the charismatic Arnello. "And here's the best bit - we've got Arnello, Milner, and Ronson: A., M., and R. We not only get to keep the name and save on a rebrand, but the guys back at Research are cool with it too. How good's that?" This all but confirms that AMR, in both team and name, will continue onward for 2018. There are, however, still concerns for the team's ability to stay financed, and more importantly, competitive. "Look, we're not stupid. We know we're in a piss-poor position, but more importantly, we know how to fix it," said Arnello. "We've pooled in the cash to keep it going for now and get an '18 car up. AMR left us with this year's APU which Jan's already gotten up to next years reg's. We've got new sponsors coming on board next year; some Aussie, some overseas. Lufthansa's gone but a couple more are coming on board. Dmytro's got ties as well. Couple of tech companies and capital ventures in the works. We're keeping that dialogue flowing." "We know what we've gotta do now to keep going. We know next year isn't going to be pretty. But what we know most, is we have a team that isn't ready to give up." Arnello declined to comment on the saddening news of Petersen's withdrawal conditions, stating that, "now's not the time."
