Nathaniel Powers has said he and his new Downton team have to aim for points in the season opening Australian Grand Prix.
Having come off the back of a torrid debut season - where the team finished 10th in the Constructors Championship with just 29 points - Downton will be hoping to start the new campaign strongly in Melbourne.
"Obviously things are a lot different this season, and we've also seen how far Downton dropped off last year following that opening podium."
"They fell to the back and by the end of the year were really struggling to score points, however that's not something I see as being an issue this season."
"I have every belief we can fight for points during the race, and that absolutely has to be the aim. Any less will be a bit of a disappointment - although not a total surprise - whereas anything more would be astonishing," he added.
Downton have arrived early in Melbourne and the indications coming from the team are that they already have a substantial number of upgrades for the first race, showing they are serious about improving this year.
