With only days left before the beginning of pre-season testing, Franklin have finally revealed the signing of two more drivers alongside Enrique Ruiz. It was confirmed earlier today that 2015 World Champion would race alongside the Brazilian for the 2016 season, marking the first time in FV history that Franklin have re-signed both drivers. “It’s no secret that we have a harsh view on drivers when it comes to performance, but that has served us well so far,” Began team principal, Jamie Franklin. “However, we've decided to re-negotiate with Elroy, and he will continue to race for us in the season to come. He did a good job in taking the Championship last year, but that is no guarantee of future success, so we expect both drivers to fight even harder in 2016 to maintain our position at the top.”
As well as the German, Franklin have also signed Aron Einarsson, an FV2 driver, whom will serve as the team’s reserve driver for the upcoming season. “We've seen some good things with Aron so far, and we’ll be testing him out where we can to see where he stands in comparison to Enrique and Elroy. We’re very much looking forward to what he can bring to the team, and hope he gains what he needs from us.” Franklin also let slip that the reveal of their 2016 challenger was delayed for the time being, but would be ready for pre-season testing.
