Today it was confirmed that FV3 driver Thierry Xylander has been signed to the DS Performance Academy, the Junior Team for DS Mathershaw Technology currently running under the Liverpool banner. In his debut season in FV3, the Belgian youngster is racing for Schneider Motoren. Shortly after the first round of the season in Anderstorp, in which he won the reverse grid race, the French manufacturer opened talks with Xylander and his representatives, and the deal was formally agreed today.
DS Academy boss Arthur Lapierre was very pleased with the deal: 'It is with great pleasure we announce Thierry has joined our Young Driver ranks. He represents one of the finest talents of his generation, and we strongly believe he will become one of the finest sportsmen Belgium has ever produced. Bienvenue Thierry!'
It is believed that the youngster will remain in FV3 for the remainder of the season with Schneider Motoren, with the intention that 2016 sees him graduate to FV2 and gain further experience on the support bill of the Formula Virtual World Championship.
