Simon was on top throughout the session while for the first time this season in a dry qualifying session, his team mate Olen Inman failed to occupy the top spot at any point, the 3-time pole sitter having to settle for the second row, with Johan Halvosen alongside.
His team mate Stuart Harrison was fifth quickest - just pipping Enrique Ruiz by 0.020 - with the second Ingram of Nikolai Milkovich in seventh. Carson Davenport secured his best qualifying of the year in eighth as FUN showed significant improvement, his team mate Romano Agostino also sneaking into the top ten with the pair sandwiching Will Hoskins' Westwood. Elroy Wagner ended up half a second slower than his team mate and missed out on the top ten as a result, while Felix Beyer will join him on row six. Tumo Kinnumen backed up the increased pace of the Westwood in thirteenth, ahead of the lead Lopez of James Harding - who was hugely disappointed to only be fourteenth quickest - the Swiss team seemingly having lost out hugely in the development race, along with Ocelot who could only manage the tenth row. Nathaniel Powers showed improved performance from the Downton in fifteenth place ahead of Lewis Ellington, Jochem van Snelheid - and team mate Marcus Thunder. Towards the back Judson Sikes leads the battle of the new teams, while Aron Einarsson and Arden Hutchinson will line up at the back of the grid.
