Former Westwood Racing driver, Romano Agostino, has signed with Meteor to replace the injured Giani Ledesma. Ledesma was injured leaving the circuit post-race in Austria at the weekend. He was later diagnosed with a broken arm and will remain out of the car for the foreseeable future.
It is understood the Meteor were in discussions with teams immediately as to who can replace the injured Italian. Kazuki Armos eventually agreed to a deal which would free Romano Agostino from his Westwood contract to race with the Meteor squad with immediate effect At the announcement, 'We have seen Romano race this season. He has the experience of driving a mid-field car and will be an advantage to us in maintain our championship position rather than losing it. We are unsure whether or if Giani will return to racing this season depending on the rate of his recovery. We wish him well and we are very grateful for his contribution this season!' New recruit Agostino, also present, 'I am so thankful to have been given another shot at racing. I am also grateful for Harry (Westwood) for given me my debut and also the chance to join Meteor. I hope to blossom further hear'. Romano Agostino will make his Meteor debut in Belgium
