Will Hoskins: Thanks. First of all, I’d just like to thank the team. They did an amazing job this weekend. But yeah, it feels so good to be back on the top step of the podium after coming so close in Australia. I’m just…ecstatic.
Q: The car seems more competitive here than it did in Australia, have you added updates or is it just the circuit?
WH: Absolutely. Again, I have to thank the team, because the car just felt incredible. I mean, it was great last year, and it was very good in Australia as well, but today was something else. The way the guys managed to turn things around so quickly since pre-season testing is a real testament to the talent within the team.
Q: And tell me about that battle with Karl, that was certainly something special to watch.
WH: Yes! Battling with this guy was the most fun I've had in a long time! I don’t think there was a dull moment on the track between the two of us, and it was completely on the limit, but also respecting each other’s lines as well. He’s clearly a great, fast driver, but very respectable as well. Obviously, that’s not always the case, as we saw quite a lot today as well, according to the team.
Q: Now Karl, obviously I’d imagine you’re disappointed to lose the win on the final corner but same question to you as I just asked Will, tell me a bit about your battle, how did it seem from your perspective?
Karl Beckenbauer: It was absolutely incredible! I’m so annoyed I didn't hold the inside line on the final corner, I’d been passed by him there a few times in the race, but I thought he was just too far back. I was wrong, but I’m happy with the race result in the end.
Q: Like your teammate in Australia you were held up here by Gerard Alaniz, although weren't involved in an incident. He’s since admitted he wasn't up to the task of racing, how do you feel about this? Do you blame him or the team?
KB: Gerard is a great man, and to admit that takes balls. I hope he is back soon, it’s nobody’s fault. Maybe the VFIA need to look at more blue flags, let them know what’s happening.
Q: And that’s the second time you've been on pole here and not won, does that bug you?
KB: Not at all. I love losing a win from pole position. *mutters* Depp.
Q: Adrien, first podium of the season, happy?
Adrien Simon: Oui!
Q: English please Adrien. You should really have won both races so far, but have had some issues. First the collision in Australia, and here you missed the pit box, what happened?
AS: In Australia, there were problem with Mr. Alaniz, but blah, it war. Here is very boring for me, I made mistake, did not see team in pitlane.
Q: It was also confirmed during the weekend that’d you’d re-signed for Liverpool for next year. Was this an easy choice? With Franklin already closing the gap, is there any worry the team may not be able to develop as fast?
AS: The team are fantastic. I want freedom to run. It was really easy choice for me, I love Liverpool, and Robert is true friend. Franklin owns more money, but Liverpool are real racers! Development? This is not problem for us!
Q: And finally, back to you Will. We now head off to Bahrain, do you feel the team can keep towards the front and once again challenge Liverpool?
WH: In the dry, we seem to be at least on pace with Liverpool at the moment, which I think is pretty incredible if you look at how they looked in pre-season testing, and then how the first race was kind of dominated by them as well, then the fact that we've been able to almost equal their pace here is a credit to the team. If we can keep up this kind of rate with development, then I think we can definitely take the fight to them again in the desert.
