Series CEO Nic Morley has praised Nathaniel Powers and Franklin F1 for wrapping up the drivers championship in Brazil. With just one race to spare in Mexico, Nathaniel Powers has wrapped up the drivers championship. The Englishman finished the race in second with his championship rivals Jean Mattson finishing fourth. This was good enough for Nathaniel Powers to become the Season One F1F Virtual Grand Prix Champion.
"I want to congratulate Nathaniel on a brilliant season. He's done the job and has performed very well all season. He's the champion now, perhaps it was predicted; but now everyone can call him the champion. He's the face of the series now if you want to look at it that way. Franklin F1 have just given the series it's first drivers champion. I admire this team for their intelligence and pure ambition all season long", said Morley. "Jean Mattson was close but not close enough. It would have been nice to see the championship go down to the wire in Mexico, but it wasn't to be. I think Team 23 have missed out a few wins this season which is a shame for them. All in all Mattson and Team 23 have pushed Powers and Franklin all season long, and I think it's been a competitive first season. When the drivers finish Mexican Grand Prix next weekend I think it will wrap up a successful first season", finished Morley.
