Meteor revealed its MM18 2018 Formula Virtual car ahead of the start of winter testing. The Virgin-powered machine will be driven by all-rookie line-up Jules Simon and Sebastien Vocquelin, following the team’s decision not to retain Johan Halvosen and Stuart Harrison. "2017 was a very difficult year, but we will make forward progress – and that is what we want to see in 2018 – forward progress." “We had to ‘make do’ last year and that’s not what we’re here for. We build fast race cars for a living and it’s great to get back to doing what we love.” Meteor enter the third year of its partnership with Virgin and, with a newly developed VM2018 engine, the team are hoping to take a significant step forward after the disappointment of last year. "There has been a lot of hard work and a lot of investment in a unique design and we really believe that. The design team have focused almost exclusively on it since the middle of last season and it’s just a whole different ball game to any of its predecessors. We haven’t left any performance on the table and right now I can say there’s not a single part of the car we’d have designed differently.” With two promising young, new French drivers, as part of a new era for Meteor, we hope this will be the season Meteor can be considered “a contender” again.
