First to be confirmed was Jacinto Van Slooten, the former Downton race and test driver will continue his testing role, switching to Lucas.
He told the press this morning "I am so glad to be signed by Lucas GP, they may be one of the smaller teams in the sport but their racing passion is one of, if not, the best in paddock. I look forward to working with Lewis, Emma and Lucas in this new exciting era of Formula Virtual"
Another signing came as a shock to many. Andae d'Hazorme, former team principal of Team 23 Formula Virtual Team, will join as Deputy Team Principal.
He released this statement about his signing "I’m thrilled to be part of Lucas Grand Prix next year, one of my strongest opponents back when I was racing with Team 23. My role within the team will be mostly advisory, but it’s great to still be a part of this amazing championship"
We asked the ever cool owner and principal of Lucas GP, Lucas Wilson about the signings.
"We are moving forward into a new exciting era for Formula Virtual, with the new cars, new engines and rules. Its going to be really exciting, of course we'll be learning as we progress through the season, but it always helps to have experience on board. We have Jacinto, who is a points scoring race driver, he has that experience working in Formula Virtual, which is vital for us. Then we have Andae, one of the best team principals the sport has seen, his advice for this season and the coming seasons will be very valuable to us. I believe with these great talents on board we can be much stronger than this year and hopefully challenge for podiums in 2015 and beyond"
