"First and foremost, we are happy to report Diego has suffered no serious injuries as a result of the incident with Karl Beckenbauer. Obviously he's a little shaken-up, but nothing serious. He will be fine to race in Japan."
"However, we are very unhappy with the manner of his departure. We understand that the rain made conditions hard, the Rossi and Molto Veloce drivers collided and there were numerous other incidents. This incident is different. Firstly, he shouldn't even be on the track, he should have pitted the corner before hand. Secondly, why does he veer into the track? I understand he may have had engine or gearbox trouble which would have caused him to slow down, but why does he turn into the middle of the track? He has no reason too, Diego can do nothing, the rain means he can barely see van Slooten and then, bang, what can he do?"
One journalist mentioned that Bradley Downton had called for a race suspension for the Mathershaw. Ingram responded "I know Robert well, and I'm confident he'll have words with his driver, does he deserve a ban? I can't say, it's up to Nic, but I expect some kind of penalty yes."
Ingram also heaped praise on young Enrique Ruiz, claiming that he now sees why Franklin are keen to have him drive next season, and hopes to see more of the same.
