The race started without incident, Zrigovic steaming away ahead of Palma and Stokey, but on Lap 7, Palma ran wide heading in to turn 6, and Stokey dived down the inside in a brilliant move.
Championship leader Vahasoyrinki got past Liverpool youngster Jamie Gerrard on Lap 12, with an entertaining battle that started from the turn 11 - 12 complex right through to turn 16, where the Finn slid inside. Other movers included Germund Svensson, who lost 3 positions after running very wide in the tricky turn one.
Callum Brandon in the VW was quick, picking up two places, while Team 23's Luis Pesdebills lost 4 places, 3 after running wide in turn 14 on lap 27, and a further one after a brilliant move from Felipe Cesar, the Piuttosto Veloce driver driving all the way outside turn 7, holding his line through turn 8 and eventually taking the spot in the 9th corner.
Eventually, the win went to Zrigovic, while his team mate joined him on the podium in P2, and Palma rounded off the top three, certain to please Mr Todt who was outspoken after qualifying.
