Will Hoskins will move teams once again in 2018 as he leaves AMR to join Olsbergs Team Holmqvist and former team mate Tumo Kinnumen. The two were previously paired up at Holmqvists fellow Renault-powered team Westwood in 2015 and for the first five races of 2016. "I am absolutely delighted to be joining Holmqvist," Hoskins commented when the news was announced following the Bahrain V-Prix. "They are a team that very much look to be on the up and it is exciting to know I will now be a part of that journey. Hopefully they can get me back to the podium."
Hoskins has endured a frustrating year with AMR and the announcement comes just over a month after the Australian outfit confirmed 'some severe financial difficulty'. "Firstly, I would like to express sadness at the situation AMR reportedly find themselves in," commented Cory Evans, Holmqvist team principal. "We can only sympathise with what is an awful situation to be in and we really hope they are to come out of the other side a stronger team for it, and that we will compete alongside them for years to come." "It did however make things slightly easier with regards to the negotiations with Will for 2018, and has enabled us to pick up a second world class driver to really push our team forwards next season. Will and Tumo have worked together before very well, and we cannot wait for them to reunite at Holmqvist." Kinnumen was said to be delighted with the news he would be working with Hoskins once more, while Hoskins said, "It is good. I get on well with Tumo and we can push each other, so I am hopeful of a strong season." The team also confirmed that, as has been widely speculated, Kiara Thunder's contract will be terminated immediately after the Brazilian V-Prix following a mutual agreement.
