Will Hoskins Won a race long duel against Karl Beckenbauer to win the Malaysian Grand Prix. It was arguably one of the best races of the series yet with overtaking and drama to be found up and down the field. The duel started at the very first corner as Hoskins produced a nice move to overtake Beckenbauer up the inside, and just behind them Franklin and Liverpool were fighting again as Simon overtook Ruiz for 3rd place. Further on in the lap Enzo Domenicalli overtook Downton's Marcus Thunder for 5th place. The first lap drama wasn't over yet though as Beckenbauer re-passed Hoskins and Thunder lost yet another place this time to Kinnumen.
The one stopping Thunder was beginning to hold up those behind him but the overtaking was again to be found at the head of the pack as Hoskins re passed Beckenbauer for the lead. That lead didn't last long though as once again Beckenbauer squeezed back past. The lead changed again at the front, Hoskins overtaking Beckenbauer at turn 1. Futher down the field at the same corner, Davenport made a clumsy attempt to overtake Mattson causing the Team 23 car to spin on the racing line. Dwyer and Phipps were next on the scene and both lost their front wings in the carnage. Ellington also lost his front wing and all three needed to pit with their races effectively ruined. The three stopping Kinnumen sensed an opportunity and dived up the inside of Domenicalli for 5th place, things got worse for the Italian as he was passed by his team mate a lap later. Kinnumen's charge up the field continued as he passed Enrique Ruiz for 4th place, the podium was in reach for the Westwood driver if he could keep this speed up! At the front the lead continued to change hands as Beckenbauer passed Hoskins yet again. Kinnumen dived into his pits to make his first stop three, he rejoined the track with clear space ahead. A dramatic and scary crash then happened as Enzo Domenicalli's Rossi car had a break failure and in trying to avoid his team-mate he smashed into Enrique Ruiz at high speed ending both of their races. Nathaniel Powers had been having a quiet race but now found himself in 5th place. Hoskins again re-took the lead, but not for long! Beckenbauer re-passed the Brit at the next corner. Kinnumen's fantastic race came to an end as Felix Bayer clipped the rear of the Westwood and sent it into the gravel trap. Thunder was struggling as he was passed by Wagner and Agostino who had both made their way up the field nicely in 6th and 7th. Another crash! the Kubat collided with his team-mate and sent the Warrior racing car into a terrifying amount of flips. Kubat can continue but Harding is out and has been taken to hospital. Beckenbauer pits leaving Hoskins to battle it out with Simon for the lead. Hoskins came in a lap later and left the pits with a decently sized gap over Beckenbauer. However Simon had taken advantage and came out of the pits in the lead! Giodano and Thunder had a exiting battle for 5th but in the end it was the Italian who came out on top. Romano Agostino was setting the timing sceen's purple and had closed up to the back of Beckenbauer, could this be Fun F1 first podium? Ingram had taken advantage in the battle for 10th place as Milkovich passed Lucas GP's Davenport. Agostino made his move on Beckenbauer and passed him, 3rd place!. However he wasn't finished yet, Agostino then produced a brilliant move to pass Hoskins for 2nd place!. Beckenbauer then passed Hoskins for what was now second place as Agostino had pitted. However Simon made a huge error! he missed his pit box! he then had go round again and pit on the next lap losing him a huge amount of time. After the pit stops Simon had dropped to 4th. Hoskins had got out just infront of Beckenbauer but the gap was as close as ever. Thunder had also made progress int the pits, he passed his World champion team mate, Powers and Wagner to move into 6th place. Giodano was running a comfortable 5th place for Scuderia Rossi. Beckenbauer and Hoskins continued to fight for the lead passing and re-passing each other. With 8 laps to go Hoskins led Beckenbauer however they were about to encounter traffic, the Force Australia's. Again it was Alinaz causing the problems as he blocked Beckenbauer, the German losing alot of time! However Beckenbauer wouldn't let Hoskins pull away and The Liverpool car took the lead again, not before Hoskins got back passed 2 laps later. As the final lap began Beckenbauer passed Hoskins and was in pole position to take his second win in succession. However at the very last corner Hoskins took a dive up the inside and held on till the line! Sensational! There was more last corner drama and it was heartbreak for Fun F1 and Agostino as Simon passed the Italian at the final corner to crush their chance of a podium. Giodano finished 5th, Powers 6th, Thunder 7th in an impressive day for Downton. Wagner was 8th for Team 23, Boston 9th for Westwood and Abott 10th in a very disappointing weekend for Peugeot.
