Hello and welcome to the grid in Canada. The Liverpool cars have locked out the front row with the two Franklins behind. Surprisingly at the moment there is not much of a crowd around the Liverpool cars. Adrien have you got time for a few words?.....
Adrien, you’re on pole. It’s not far to the first corner, how are you going to defend Karl into T1? I’m thinking that I can take the inside line with even the not best of starts, so I believe I won’t have any problem! In quali, Karl wasn’t that far behind. Do you know this when you put in this pole lap? I push and if the numbers on the wheel are good then I’m happy. Until then I ignore the timing as much as I can. Karl was good, but I knew I can beat him. One more question then I’ll let you get back to your engineers. You’re behind Karl in the standings, but you’re on pole. Could this be a turning point in the season? For sure Karl has had luck and pace but I think we will be close to the end of the season. If I can, I will win. Thanks Adrien! I've just spotted one of the technical delegates at Liverpool. You’ve locked out the front row. Expecting another dominant race? Certainly not, the team have worked hard but as we’ve seen so many times our luck can change in an instant. We’re going to keep going as long as we can in the season to win, but I’m not going to expect anything too brilliant for us otherwise we are left with utter disappointment when it goes wrong. The Franklins are behind. Anything interesting on those cars? The livery is very interesting, I like it a lot! (laughs) The car is a very good one, but I don’t think there will be anything on there that is better than what we have. Any advantage they can find is because they have a good package working well in harmony. Next seasons there’s a big technical change. Have you started developing yet? No. We are fully focussed on this year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll walk back through the grid a bit. The Franklins seem to be very busy and the next cars are not even on the grid yet. They have got time, just as Elroy's Team 23 car arrives on the grid. I'll wait for him to get out the car. Elroy, 11th on the grid. The races haven’t been great, is that going to change this week? No, we’ve got to be realistic, we may be able to score some points, but podium positions are really not possible. I’m aiming for about 8th, if I have a good start. You’ve got a new teammate this race, how much has this effected you’re weekend. Not really, Jarod is doing his own thing, and I’m doing my own thing as well. I doubt whether he will do any better than Mattson, but I’m happy to be proven wrong. Finally, Liverpool or Franklin for the win. Who’s on pole actually? I really don’t know. Whoever crosses the line first, I guess. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've got a few minutes left before we had back to the paddock. Kip Maxwell is walking back to pits. Kip, can I walk with you?.... 8th on the grid on you’re return, that’s a good sign surely? Yeah, I mean for sure it is a good sign. I’ve not driven this car for very long but when I do drive it it feels very nice to drive, and considering I’m still getting used to the car, there may be some performance still to come. How are you planning on carrying the momentum through the race? Well hopefully the guys have put me on a good strategy, I’m sure they will have done because these guys really know what they’re doing. Tumo’s put in some strong performances, how much of a battle are you expecting? Well Tumo is only 2 places behind me and he’s a formidable opponent so provided we both get through the first few laps ok I’m expecting quite a challenge from him in the race. And now it's time for the national anthem!
