Rumours have emerged in the paddock this morning that Ingram have not paid for Jean Mattson's contract in it's entirety themselves, something not agreed with Meteor.
In a surprise turn of events, Ingram GP today announced the signing of French driver Jean Mattson for 2015, bought from mid table rivals Peugeot.
Confirmation of VirtualSport's report this morning of Jean Mattson signing an exist deal from his Meteor contract. The team revealed that they had signed a handsome deal with another team to see Mattson join them. They identity of the team remains unknown. More to follow.
Team 23 has been put up for sale, according to their team principal andae23. This means that the final race of the 2014 season will be Team 23's last.
andae23: "I'm sad to announce Team 23 will not compete in 2015 due to a lack of resources. It may have been noted that I haven't been too active lately. The team would love to continue, but without sufficient resources it is just not viable to continue. There are other teams who do have those resources, and we would like to give them the opportunity to compete in the pinnacle of virtual grand prix racing. "I would like to thank the series' organizer Nic Morley for setting up and running the F1FVGPC, I have very much enjoyed my time here. Furthermore, I would like to thank all team principals, who have made this championship such a success. For next season, Team 23 has withdrawn from competition entirely, but that does not mean I won't be wandering in the paddock." On a more positive note, a render of the 2015 chassis T23/3, which will never race, was revealed. Warrior Team Principal Dylan Lopez has hailed his driver's performances at Interlagos yesterday, as Osterhagen and Harding respecþively drove from 20th and 21st on the grid, to both end on the lead lap together for the team since the US Grand Prix. He has also slammed Franklin F1 for their favouritism in the last 2 races toward Enrique Ruiz.
Lopez firstly commented on the race and the outstanding efforts by his drivers. 'Both drivers were awesome today. I was especially proud of young Abel undercutting the championship leader in Will Hoskins. Abel has the potential to be an absolute superstar of the sport if he's scoring points in a backmarker car! James also did a phenominal drive to drive it to P11 given it's just his second race back in the main game. He also has the potential to score points, and I really hope he can get on the board in Mexico City.' He's also expressed his disgust at Jamie Franklin and his team. 'What we've seen in Japan and Mexico is not the way to finish a Championship Battle. Ruiz is not a deseved Champion if his teammate is being treated as second class. It's just unacceptable at this point of the season, when we've already seen how much a driver loses making a third pit stop. I'm on Hoskins to win the title, Ruiz should not be gifted the title holding Jamie's hand.' Dylan next ran undercover as it started to rain heavily at the circuit.
Bradley Downton has praised the efforts of his Downton team in what he's described as 'an indescribable season' after they secured third place in the Constructors Championship following a double points finish in the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Bradley Downton has slammed fellow team principal Jamie Franklin as downright disgraceful and has accused him of trying to fix the Championship outcome. The outburst comes following the second race in a row where Championship leader Will Hoskins - who is leaving the team next season - was placed on a strategy that badly affected the outcome of his race, especially when compared to team mate and title rival Enrique Ruiz, who is remaining with Franklin for 2015.
