After a season fraught with problems for the IJGPC, including cutting the calendar down to 10 races and the loss of Peurteor halfway through, there have also been problems for the management. The promotor said: 'We had the idea for the IJGPC, and I set about beginning it immediately. Unfortunately, my desire to set the series up as quickly as possible meant we had too little time to do a good job, which has made some of my work look foolish, and I want people to see this series and be impressed. If we are honest, I should have waited until Season 2 to begin this championship, giving plenty of time to properly prepare.' 'It is the small things that make a series as much as the big things, and we have addressed the large issues - smaller calendars and splitting into two series - but I am also working on the whole race experience. The standings and results have previously been shown on simple text documents, which looked a bit scrappy. Now, however, I have designed some new on screen graphics that will inform the viewers and teams of what is going on, but also will look better and be kinder on the eye.' Below is a preview, showing a qualifying session from Silverstone. Dick Diceman, the team-principal of Fun F1, has announced that the team hasn't decided their engine for 2014 yet:

After a heavy impact in the Italian Grand Prix, Karl Beckenbauer was a question mark for the Chinese round of the championship, having been confirmed to have a broken foot and a slight neck injury. However, it has been revealed today that he will be OK to race in Shanghai. 'We spoke to the team doctor, and although he did suffer from slight problems in his neck, he has no lasting effects, and seems to have shaken the injury off. His broken foot will affect him for 6-8 weeks, but with strapping and a bit of management, it shouldn't cause too many issues.' said team spokesperson Dave Henderson. 'Karl wants to get back in the car as soon as possible, and as we are not in a position to challenge for the constructors title, and we have a buffer to fourth, we have asked Karl to use the ending races of the season to get himself fully fit and back up to speed before next season, so he knows that, even if he isn't at his best, we are all behind him and hoping for him to be back to full fitness for next season.'
Adrien Simon won the race in fabulous fashion, but on the podium he was subdued, looking concerned about the health of his Following on from the recent announcement that Enrique Ruiz, FranklinF1 test driver, would drive the remaining races for Ingram GP, the team have confirmed today that he will take the place of Argentine Jonas Phipps.

Next season sees a dramatic shake up in the format of the junior series of the Virtual Grand Prix Championship. The current IJGPC was initially a success, but many teams were feeling the long calendar was too strenuous on resources, meaning the calendar was reduced to 10 races from the initial 18. This has been thought about extensively by the management of Junior Grand Prix Limited, and the junior ladder will be changed.
The biggest change is the introduction of a second series. The IJGPC will remain and continue to act as the top support series, and entry will now be given priority to the teams running in the main World Championship, resulting in some teams possibly not getting entry to next seasons championship. Provisionally, the championship will be restricted to 10 teams each with two drivers - this number is fixed, unless a team in the VGPC wishes to enter which would take the number to over 10, in which case the grid will be extended up to a size of 12 teams and 24 drivers, the same as the main championship. However, the promoters are fully aware that there are teams not connected to main series teams. The proposal is either for them to become the representative of a VGPC team in the International series, or to enter the newly created EJGPC - the European Championship. For this, priority will be given to teams not part of the main series - however, this doesn't stop main series teams from entering, and they can prioritise this series over the International series. The calendars will now be run as a part of the F1FVGPC main races, meaning teams need to pay less for transportation and travel. Both series will follow the European races in the calendar, with the European Championship missing Estoril, and the International series going to Canada and the United States. In short, entry to the series will be granted in the following order: - Teams currently competing in the F1FVGPC can choose to enter the IJGPC with guaranteed entry, and they can put their name down to apply for a place in the EJGPC. If they do not take their IJGPC place, but do take an EJGPC place, then they will recieve guaranteed entry and the reject spot will be give -When, and only when every team from the F1FVGPC have either confirmed or rejected their spot in the IJGPC, other teams who wish to join the series can get one of the remaining spots in the IJGPC if their are any, or if not, get a guaranteed place in the EJGPC. Teams currently participating in the first season of the IJGPC will get priority to take any remaining IJGPC spots based on their championship position (currently in the order of Morley Engineering, British Engineering and finally Point Cook racing) followed by totally new entries, or they will be . -After a period of time yet to be decided when other teams can apply to enter, any F1FVGPC teams who have applied for a place in the EJGPC will be allocated the remaining spots, until there are 10-12 teams in the series, and the order of allocation will be based on the final standings of the Season One of the F1 Fanatic Virtual Grand Prix Championship. |
