Defending World Champion Nathaniel Powers has blasted Fun F1's Romano Agostino after the incident that eliminated him from the season opening Australian Grand Prix. Agostino suffered a suspension failure on the run to turn five and stopped in the middle of the corner. leaving Powers and a recovering Adrien Simon nowhere to go. "I don't know what the moron was playing at," Powers fumed in an interview. "He suffered a suspension failure - ok that's fine, these things happen - but to then stop in the middle of the circuit, it's unthinkable."
"Stopping in the middle of a flat out corner is just such a stupid decision. Why didn't he pull off to the side? I'll tell you why, because he is a complete idiot." "I was left with no option but to drive into him. I was hard on the brakes and had full lock on but it didn't help as he left me nowhere to go," Powers added. "I was initially also a bit peeved at Adrien because of the speed at which he drove into me, it felt as though he didn't even brake." "After seeing the replay however and seeing that Adrien was very close to me and that his view of Romano stopping was blocked by my car, we have spoken and come to an understanding that neither of us was to blame, and that instead Romano was completely at fault." Powers also added that he was suffering from neck pain following the incident and wasn't entirely comfortable in the car at all during the weekend. "The car wasn't very good all weekend. I initially thought it was the setup but we've since found a crack in the chassis that we believe caused my issues this weekend and so will be changing it for next time out in Malaysia, if I'm driving." "I say that because my neck is quite sore after the incident today and so I am going to go and see a doctor and see what he says. Hopefully everything will be okay though."
