With the series set to move to a new era next year and many other changes, it is now expected that the race calendar for 2015 will change. Whispers amongst the paddock seem to suggest that the Bahrain Grand may be dropped and be replaced with another 'desert' race. Bahrain is not the only track in danger of missing out on hosting a 2015 race, as the Chinese, Malaysian, and Austrian races are also being questioned. One of the biggest rumor is that the San Marino Grand Prix may be dropped before even having the chance to take place. Series CEO Nic Morley gave his thoughts on the matter.
"These rumors are true but nothing is final yet. Next year we will see eighteen races and a 2015 schedule has already been released, but for sure their is the possibility of a few changes. I think with thee new 'regulation' changes approaching I think it is the best time to make these changes if they do end up going ahead. I think for sure we will have out first street race next year, but that is yet to be decided", explained Nic Morley. With some of these tracks potentially being removed from the calendar, already suggestions are being made for what could be their replacements. With the Bahrain Grand Prix the most in danger of missing out what does another 'desert' race mean? Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Qatar are amongst those rumored to take up the position. Nic Morley suggested a first street race for the series, what does this mean? Monaco, Valencia, Singapore, or maybe even in Detroit?
